Cynthia Garner Pruitt passed away peacefully at home, after a brief illness, August 5, 2023 with her life partner Jack Pruitt by her side.
Cindy was born in Aurora, IL on January 14, 1963. Growing up, she lived in Tupelo, Mississippi and attended West Union High School before moving back to Illinois. She loved being outdoors with her brothers and spending time with her cousins. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, and loved being with her family.
She is survived by her life partner Jack, son Tristan (Nikki) Garner of Somonauk, Jacalyn (John) Marberry of Oak Ridge, North Carolina, and daughter Melissa (Richard)Valdez of Willow Springs, Illinois, as well as her stepfather, William Comer of North Aurora, IL, two brothers, Jerry Garner of Parker, CO, and James Garner of Mountain Home, AR. She is also survived by 6 grandchildren, and a very special Aunt, Darlene Pennington, of Aurora, IL who was like a second mother to her, and by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Cindy was preceded in death by her mother, Alice Carolyn (nee Bivens) Garner Comer, and her father, James Mug Garner, and her stepmother Mary Ruth, as well her brothers, James M. Garner, and Brandon E Garner, numerous aunts, uncles, and her grandparents, Grady and Eunice Bivens, who was her very special “Grandma Jo.”
Visitation will be held Monday, August 14, 2023 at the Turner-Eighner Funeral Home in Somonauk, Illinois at 11am, with the funeral service following at 12.
