Curtis A. “Curt” Wiley, 80, of Earlville passed away Monday, April 11, 2016 at LaSalle County Nursing Home in Ottawa. He was born January 14, 1936 in Ottawa, Illinois the son of Douglas and Helen Windus Wiley. He married Martha Terrazas in 1973 in New York, NY. He was a member of the Harding United Methodist Church. He farmed his entire life in the Earlville- Harding area and enjoyed raising cattle. He was a member of the LaSalle County Farm Bureau, IL Corn Growers Association, the Illinois Beef Association. Curt was a veteran of the United States Army stationed in Germany. His greatest love of all was spending time with his family, farming and his many friends.
He is survived by his wife, Martha of Earlville, IL; three daughters, Shelly Schmid of Browntown, WI, Vicky Javier Maldonado of La Paz, Bolivia, Elaine Roger Dettore Wiley of Ottawa, IL; one son, Charles Wiley of Earlville, six grandchildren, Ethan, Andrew, Ashley, Dennis, Bronwynn and Malena, two sisters, Barbara Stallings of Green City, MO and Gertrude Ray Hoelzer of Tulsa, OK, and several nieces and nephews
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Ruth Hall and Kathryn Guelde; six brothers, Ralph, Roger, Wilbur, Donald, Lee and Samuel Wiley.
Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 noon, Saturday, April 16, 2016 at Harding United Methodist with Rev. Cynthia Zolk officiating. Burial will follow in Harding Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m., Saturday, April 16, 2016 in the church until the time of services at noon. Memorials may be directed to Harding Methodist Church.
