Craig “Eggie” Larson, 61, of Bartlett, IL, beloved son of Dean(deceased) and Carol (Miller) Larson sadly passed away May 18, 2026 at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago, IL. He was born on September 7, 1964, in Sandwich, Illinois and raised in Somonauk, IL. His departure leaves an indelible void in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

Craig was a remarkable individual, distinguished not only by his intelligence but by a wellspring of knowledge that enriched all who had the pleasure of his company. He was a top scholar, crowned the best in his computer science class at his alma mater of Illinois State University, which he graduated from in 1987. Craig used these skills as the IT Administrator for the DuPage County Circuit Court Clerk, where he worked for over 29 years.

Beyond his academic achievements, Craig was a man of varied passions and great warmth. He had a love for reading and watching movies, delighted in trivia challenges, and held an enduring devotion to sports – and to golf in particular. Craig enjoyed annual golf trips to Signature of Solon in Ohio and to the Cliffs Communities in South Carolina where everyone he met promptly gravitated to him and became his friend. He truly lit up any room (or golf course) that he inhabited.

His enthusiasm for the Chicago sports teams was contagious, and he had a particular fondness for the Cubs. A cherished highlight was memories of his pilgrimage to the Masters golf tournament in 2014 where he began a collection of souvenir coffee mugs that he would zealously guard from damage.

Craig married Katie Larson on September 22, 2006, after a long and loving courtship and made many wonderful memories with her before her passing in 2011. Katie was the love of his life and together they shared a love for travel and their beagle, Mollie.

He leaves behind his devoted mother, Carol Larson; his sister Dianne Coomes; as well as niece Samantha Coomes and great-niece Iris Phillips. His extended family includes his uncle Glenn Klotz, aunt Doris Miller, cousins Jeff Klotz, Jordan Klotz, Alana Kurtz, Shawn Rogers, Brad Miller, Peggy Ruegg, and Rhonda Sears, along with many other relatives and a vast circle of friends who held him dear.

The community is invited to honor Craig’s life at Turner-Eighner Funeral Home in Somonauk, Illinois where visitation will be held on May 30, 2026, from 12:00 - 4:00 PM followed by a funeral service with Pastor Tom Bourke officiating. This will be an opportunity to celebrate the life of a man who enriched so many lives and who will be profoundly missed but forever remembered.
