Corey Ian Calvert

February 26, 1977 — April 27, 2018

Corey Ian Calvert, age 41 of Sandwich, formerly of Montgomery passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer on Friday, April 27, 2018 at Edward Hospital in Naperville; surrounded by family and friends. He was born February 26, 1977 in Aurora to David and Barbara (Sloan) Calvert. He graduated from Agape Christian Academy High School in 1995. He married Tabitha (Zaha) Calvert October 14, 2006 in Harding. They met in 1994 at the Aurora Skate Center and have been best friends since. Tabitha was Corey’s rock and he was her funny. They had a strong marriage that most would be envious of. Tabitha is the love of his life. Together Corey and Tab went on to have two daughters Ella Raeann Calvert in 2009 who is his little “Beanie Butt.” Ella has his infectious sweet smile. Alle Marie Calvert was born in 2011 who is his “Willy Nilly.” Alle has his sassy spunk and ability to make everyone laugh. Ella and Alle were Corey’s favorite part of everyday. They spent time fishing, cooking together, roller skating in the living room, swimming, dress up and even spa days where he proudly wore whatever color nail polish the girl’s decided. He showed them enough love to last a lifetime.

He worked as a proud Union member of Local 290. He worked for Mc NDT on the Pipeline as an X-Ray hand. He loved his work and was so proud to be part of the Union and Pipeline and work beside his Dad and Brother. Throughout the years Corey lived in Florida and worked at Emerald Coast Scuba and taught scuba diving to Air Force and Army Rangers. Corey also worked at a roller skating rink and was an avid speed skater.

He is survived by his wife, Tabitha; two daughters Ella and Alle; parents David and Barbara Calvert; a brother Sean Calvert; a sister Dorielle Herbsleb, grandparents Jim and Ruth Sloan and Grandmother Patricia (Schenk) Calvert. A niece Kelsey Calvert; nephew Hunter Calvert; Tabitha’s parents and siblings, many nieces, nephews, Aunts, Uncles, cousins and friends who he loved dearly.

He was preceded in death by his Grandfather Billy Calvert and Uncle Richard Slusher.
