Concepcion Mendez, 94, of Durango, Mexico passed away February 29, 2016 at his residence in Durango. He was born December 8, 1921 in Durango, Mexico the son of Merced Nevarez and Jesus Mendez. He married Rita Cazares in Durango, Mexico, in 1948. Memorial Service will be held 3:00 p.m., Sunday, March 6, 2016 at Turner-Eighner Funeral Home in Plano, IL with Deacon Eduardo Murillo officiating. Burial will be in Durango, Mexico. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m., on Sunday, March 6, 2016 in the funeral home until the time of service at 3:00 p.m.

He is survived by three daughters, Guadalupe Mendez of Plano, IL, Maria Concepcion Valles of Durango, Mexico and Lola Mendez of Rialto, CA, five sons, Marcial Elena Mendez of Perris, CA, Adrian Mendez of Lakewood, CA, Arturo Guadalupe Mendez of Yorkville, IL, Emilio Estela Mendez of Plano, IL and Andres Nina Mendez of Durango, Mexico, several grandchildren and great grandchildren. Seven brothers, Pomposo Mendez of Plano, IL, Marcelino Mendez of Los Angeles, CA, Francisco Mendez of Los Angeles, CA, Tivursio Mendez of New Mexico, Luis Mendez of Los Angeles, CA, Pollo Mendez of Los Angeles, CA and Guillermo “Willie” Mendez of Plano, IL, one sister Agustina Mendez of Chicago, IL.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, four children, Jose Maria “Chema” Mendez, Catalina Mendez, Joaquin Mendez and Apolonio Mendez, one sister Lucia Mendez, and one brother Juan Mendez.
