Clarence F. La Bolle, 98, of Somonauk passed away Monday, August 27, 2012 at Valley West Community Hospital in Sandwich. He was born on a farm near Somonauk, IL on August 22, 1914 to Arthur and Minnie (Sherman) La Bolle. On June 14, 1941 he married Gladys Colbe, daughter of Charles and Ida (Dellenback) Colbe.
Clarence always had a love of the farm and started out in 4-H raising purebred Chester White hogs which he also did in FFA. A great hobby was showing his animals at the Aurora Fair and then at the Sandwich Fair from 1927 through 1944. He was a member of the Somonauk Lions Club for over 40 years and the LaSalle County Farm Bureau.
He leaves to mourn his passing his daughter: Constance (Gerald) Bowman-Skweres of Schaumburg, IL; his son: Jerome (Diane) LaBolle of The Villages, FL; four grandchildren: Andrew LaBolle of Aspen, CO, Matthew (Rebecca) LaBolle of Sandwich, IL, Michelle (Timothy) Reardon of Streamwood, IL and Jennifer Babcock of Woodland Hills, CA; seven great grandchildren: Jasen, Samantha, Elizabeth, Henry and Max LaBolle and Wyatt and Lucy Babcock; two sisters: Dorothy Funsch of Chicago, IL and Vivian Yingling of Hanford, CA plus a number of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Gladys and his parents.
Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 30, 2012 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Somonauk, IL with Father Thomas Brantman officiating. Burial will follow in St. John Catholic Cemetery in Somonauk, IL. Visitation will also be on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at Turner-Eighner Funeral Home in Somonauk. Memorials may be directed to Open Door in Sandwich, IL.
