Cheryl A. Chivers, 58, of Sandwich passed away Sunday, April 17, 2016 at Prairie Crossing Living and Rehab Center in Shabbona. She was born May 26, 1957 in DeKalb, IL, the daughter of Lynn and Virginia Donnell Van Deusen. She married David Chivers on June 10, 1978 in Naperville, IL. Cheryl was a member of Big Woods Congregational Church and a member of the Earlville Country Club for 15 years. She also enjoyed reading, crafts, cooking, spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Cheryl was a General Contractor, it was her dream, and she was never happier then when she built houses with her dad, brother, Rich and nephew, Justin. She was an Avon sales representative in the Lake Holiday area for over 30 years and was also employed by Armour Dial Credit Union for 7 years.
She is survived by her husband, David of Sandwich, IL; her father, Lynn of Sheridan, IL; one daughter, Heather Antonio Pender Chivers of Sandwich, IL; two grandchildren, Gavin Andrew Arriaga and Charlotte Rose Pender; two sisters, Wanda Van Deusen of Oswego, IL and Patti Dave Moriarty of Alva, FL; two brothers, Michael John Laurie Van Deusen and Richard Van Deusen both of Sandwich, IL her father and mother-in-law, Glen and Ruth Chivers of Ottawa, IL; one sister-in-law, Diane Chuck Funk of Ottawa, IL; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded by her son, Andrew, her mother, and one nephew, Michael Van Deusen.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 23, 2016 at Turner-Eighner Funeral Home in Somonauk, IL with Pastor Lynn Cate officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Sandwich. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, April 22, 2016 at the funeral home in Somonauk.
