Charlotte A. Johnson

Charlotte A. Johnson, 69, of Sandwich, IL passed away Wednesday, June 29, 2011 at her home. She was born December 27, 1941 in Soldiers Grove, WI, the daughter of Alert and Corneila (Olson) Burkum. She was an Activities Assistant at Willow Crest Nursing Pavilion in Sandwich. She was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Rockford and a avid Cubs fan. Charlotte loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and her friends.

She is survived by two daughters, Patty (Steve) Tragarz of Sandwich, IL and Cindy (Chip) Meldrim of Winter Haven, FL; one son, Todd (Jessica) Greenwell of Grinnell, IA; nine grandchildren, Jeremy Hardman, Adam Greenwell, Megan Costanzo, Tyler Meldrim, Brandon Greenwell, Shane Meldrim, Peter Costanzo, Seth Meldrim and Mia Greenwell; three sisters, Geri (Bob) Davis of Clermont, Fl, Helen (Pete) Larsen of Caledonia, IL and Lori (Jim) Gaddis of Rockford, IL; one brother, Henry Burkum of Rockford, IL and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one grandson, James Hardman and one brother, Arolo Burkum.

Funeral Services will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 6, 2011 at Turner-Eighner Funeral Home in Somonauk. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 3:00 p.m. until the time of services at 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
