Charles L. Lackey

Charles L. Lackey, 87, of Somonauk, Illinois passed away Thursday, March 1, 2007 in Community Hospital of Ottawa, Ottawa, IL. He was born September 23, 1919 in Birds, IL the son of Edgar and Ella (Mickey) Lackey. He married Georgia Marie Weger on October 16, 1938 in Birds, IL. Charles was a member of Union Congregational Church in Somonauk, Somonauk Masonic Lodge, and he was a proud veteran of WWII having served in the US Army. Before retiring, he was a car salesman for Prescott Brothers Garage of Mendota, IL.

He is survived by three sons, Larry (Linda) Lackey of Versailles, MO, Lonnie (Shari) Lackey of Oswego, IL, and Duane (Cindy) Lackey of Somonauk, IL.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and one sister, Leona Stevens.

Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, March 5, 2007 at Turner-Eighner Funeral Home in Somonauk with Rev. Kirk Moore officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Mound in Somonauk. Visitation was Sunday, March 4, 2007 at the funeral home in Somonauk. Memorials may be directed to Union Congregational Church.
