Charles “Chuck” E. Fuchs, 89, of Leland, IL passed away Saturday, March 3, 2018 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born August 19, 1928 in Leland, IL the son of Edmund and Adelaide (Rierson) Fuchs. He married Anna M. Brand on August 24, 1946. He was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church in Leland. Chuck worked for Burlington Northern Railroad for 48 years. He farmed on the Leland Homestead all his life. His passion was the love for baseball, which he played for several years on different teams. Chuck and Anna enjoyed traveling throughout the U.S. and abroad. His greatest love was spending time with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He is survived by six children, Linda Hann of Sandwich, IL, Sandy (Gary) Swanson of Maple Park, IL, Kevin (Jan Hildebrand) Fuchs of Orland Park, IL, Debbie (Marshall) DeFrank of Grant Park, IL, Tammy (Gerry) Freese of North Aurora, IL, and Blair (Esmeralda) Fuchs of Sheridan, IL; eleven grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and one nephew, Roy (Pam) Marrs of O’Fallon, IL. Special heartfelt thank you to Brenda Walz and Penny Brennan, Chuck’s home caregivers.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Anna, son-in-law, Don Hann, one brother Wesley, and one sister Mary Jane Marrs.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 7, 2018 at Turner-Eighner Funeral Home in Somonauk, IL with Pastor Zach Baer officiating. Burial will follow in Leland Cemetery Leland, IL. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 7, 2018 at the funeral home in Somonauk.
