Cedric S. Fatland

Cedric S. Fatland, 91, of Sandwich, IL passed away Monday, October 31, 2011 at Valley West Community Hospital in Sandwich. He was born April 19, 1920 in Sandwich the son of Cyrus O. and Abbie (Peterson) Fatland. He married Elizabeth M. Osland on October 5, 1945 in Sandwich. Cedric enjoyed farming all of his life, livestock, auctions, horse racing and traveling with his family.

He is survived by two sons, Thomas C. Fatland (Marcia Vick) of Sandwich, Gary A. (Leslie) of Sandwich; seven grandchildren Lisa (Ron) Sons of Tonica, IL, Erica (Charles) Semenchuk of Round Lake, IL, Justin Fatland of Sandwich, Nathan (Shannon) Fatland of Sandwich, Jason (Aubree) Fatland of Victoria, TX, Luke (Katharin) Fatland of Sandwich, and Taylor Fatland of Sandwich; three great grandchildren, Hadley, Kinze and Iris; one nephew, Jerry Osland of Sandwich; one sister-in-law, Helen Osland of Sandwich; daughter-in-law, Nancy Fatland of Sandwich.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Elizabeth M. Fatland in 1977.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, November 4, 2011 at Turner-Eighner Funeral Home in Somonauk, IL. Burial will follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery in Sandwich. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 3, 2011 at Turner-Eighner Funeral Home in Somonauk. Memorials may be directed to the charity of one’s choice.
