Catherine "Cathy" Jordal

Catherine "Cathy" Jordal, a beloved figure in her community, passed away peacefully at her home in Leland, Illinois on January 5, 2026, at the age of 69. Born on February 19, 1956, in Streator, Illinois, Cathy was the cherished daughter of Robert and Betty (Reavy) Tibbles, who preceded her in death.

Throughout her life, Cathy dedicated herself to her family and her work. She held a fulfilling position at the Leland school, where she filled in wherever needed, touching the lives of many students along the way. Her commitment to education and her love for children were evident in her daily interactions, and she found great joy in being a part of their lives.

Family was everything to Cathy. She adored her husband, Curtis Jordal, whom she married on September 16, 2000, in a joyful ceremony in Las Vegas, Nevada. Her pride and joy also extended to her son, Greg Hill, who shared his life with Angie Campbell. Cathy’s warmth and affection radiated through her relationships, creating a nurturing environment for her loved ones.

She is survived by her husband, Curtis; her son, Greg (Angie Campbell) Hill; her sister, Mary Ann Tibbles; and her beloved pets, Odin the dog and Matt the parrot. Cathy cherished her numerous friends, who will remember her for her vibrant spirit and generous heart.

Cathy Jordal will be deeply missed but cherished in the hearts of those she loved and who loved her.

A Celebration of Life will be held on January 15, 2026, from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM at the Turner-Eighner Funeral Home in Somonauk, Illinois. All who knew Cathy are invited to come together to honor her memory and the profound impact she had on so many lives. Graveside service will be on Friday, January 16, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at Riverview Cemetery in Streator, Illinois. In lieu of flowers memorials maybe directed to the family.
