Carole Jean (Madsen) Ardelean, 87, of Plano, IL passed away Sunday, January 28, 2018 at Kishwaukee Hospital in Dekalb, IL. She was born April 8, 1930 in Plano, IL, the daughter of Albert and Laura (Madsen) Madsen. She married Arthur Louis Ardelean on October 13, 1951 in Crystal Lake, IL, they had 51 loving years together. Carole was baptized at 1st Baptist Church in Plano. She graduated from Plano High School in 1948. For several years she was a cook at The Friendly Tap in Plano. She started working part time in 1988 at SVI in DeKalb, IL, until she was 82. Carole was very active in Muskies Inc, she was a member of the Plano American Legion Auxiliary for many years, and the Sandwich Women of the Moose Lodge 1016. She enjoyed bowling and Chicago sports teams. Carole had great love for nature and enjoyed vacationing to the Northwoods of WI. Carole’s greatest love was spending time with her family.
She is survived by two daughters, Valerie (Martin) Lincoln of Plano, IL and Robin Kuehlem of Sayner, WI; two grandchildren, Katie Marie (Eric) DeLaGarza of Eagle River, WI and Aaron Arthur Kuehlem of Sayner, WI; her first great granddaughter, Julia Jean DeLaGarza, is due in April 2018; two sisters-in-law, Rosemary Madsen of Plano, IL and Barbara Madsen of Elburn, IL; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Arthur on January 8, 2003; four sisters, Esther Brown, Alice Gramm, Delores Richards, and Maxine Johnson; five brothers, Iner, Leon “Luke,” Howard, Russell, and LeRoy “Teenie” Madsen.
Graveside Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 10, 2018 at St. Patrick Cemetery in Bristol with Pastor Jonathan Black officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Plano Library for books about nature or the Camp American Legion, 8529 Co Rd D, Lake Tomahawk, WI 54539.
