Carl Wayne Pike, 60, of Mendota went home to be with the Lord Friday, April 10, 2015 at OSF St. Anthony Hospital in Rockford, IL. He was born July 9, 1954 in Casey Creek, KY, the son of Carlos and Bonnie (Hovious) Pike. Carl was a born again Christian that loved witnessing to people about his love for the Lord. He was a member of Victory Baptist Church in Mendota and the Christian Motorcycle Association. Carl was a fun loving person that received great satisfaction out of helping people in any way he could. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle and spending time with his beloved dog, Daisy Mae.
He is survived by one son, Shane King of AR; three grandchildren, Winter, Jessica and Arian; two brothers, Dennis (Pat) Hovious of Compton, IL and Rich (Dana) Pike of Cincinnati, OH; two sisters, ReNee Pike of Gold Canyon, AZ and Joan (Tim Seevers) Richey-Seevers of Utica, IL; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 16, 2015 at Hanley-Turner-Eighner Funeral Home in Earlville, IL with Pastor Steve Adamson officiating. Burial will be at Precinct Cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 15, 2015 and from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services on Thursday at the funeral home in Earlville. Pallbearers will be Shawn Hovious, Dustin Richey, Derek Richey, Jessica Rumney, Sheri Smith and Rich Mosell. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family.
