Caecilia Peschel

Caecilia Peschel, 91, of Plano, Illinois passed away Sunday, February, 1, 2026 at her home. She was born on May 5, 1934 in Vertesboglar, Hungary the daughter of Johann and Elisabeth Nagl. She married Hubert Peschel on October 20, 1956 in Germany. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Plano. Caecilia worked at Plano Molding, Federal Huber, and then LACH Brazing & Solder which she started with her husband. 

Caecilia's hobbies included knitting scarves and slippers, gardening, baking and walking. Caecilia was active in the choir, worked at funeral lunches and BINGO, and was a member of the CCW. Caecilia and her husband enjoyed riding bikes, going to the mall and going to German dances. Caecilia loved spending time with her daughters, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. 

She is survived by her two daughters, Annette (Michael) Scholes and Lisa (Richard) Owens both of Plano, IL; one grandson, Joshua Owens of Champaign, IL; three great-grandchildren,  Brayden Scholes, Jamison Scholes and Londyn Scholes of Plano, IL; one sister, Mary (Charles) Farago of Lehigh Acres, FL; two nieces, Irene (Jeff) Windett and Linda (Craig) Loveless; four nephews, Tom (Sherel) Kaltenecker, Frank (Marjorie) Kaltenecker, Rick (Donna) Farago and Karl (Gina) Farago. 

Caecilia is preceded in death by her parents, Johann and Elisabeth Nagl; her husband, Hubert Peschel; son at birth, Arnold Peschel; grandson, Christopher Scholes; sisters, Barbara Kaltenecker and Elizabeth Wagner; nephews, Jon Kaltenecker and Eric Wagner.

Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m.  to 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, February 21, 2026 at Turner-Eighner Funeral Home in Plano, IL. The funeral mass will follow at 1:00 p.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church in Plano. IL with Father Kaz Chwalek officiating. Burial will follow the mass at St. Patrick's Cemetery in Bristol, IL. Memorials may be directed to St. Mary's Catholic Church in Plano, Fox Valley Older Adults in Sandwich or Divine Hospice in Yorkville.
