C. "Nick" Sellers

C. "Nick" Sellers, 86, of Earlville, IL passed away Tuesday, February 17, 2015 at Mendota Community Hospital in Mendota. He was born August 19, 1928 in Harding, IL the son of Charles and Leola ( Aitken) Sellers. He married Lena Joslin on November 19, 1982 in Earlville, IL. Nick graduated from Earlville High School, he served in the US Army in Korea as a Sergeant. Nick belonged to the Earlville United Methodist Church, Earlville American Legion Post 549, Lifetime member of the Masonic Lodge, he built his own plane and enjoyed flying. He farmed in the Earlville area his entire life and enjoyed his many animals.


He is survived by his wife, Lena of Earlville; three step-sons, John Brewer of Savoy, IL, Curtis Brewer of Earlville, IL and Edward Brewer of Streator, IL; three grandchildren, Kylie (Miguel) Colon, Jacquelynn (Ron) McBee and Jacob (Jennifer) Brewer. Two great grandchildren, Marlie and Mia Colon; two brothers, Calvin "Ted" (Martha) Sellers of Earlville, IL and Ralph (Sandy) Sellers of Cobden, IL; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, David and Floyd Sellers, and one sister-in-law Joan Sellers.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 21, 2015 at Earlville United Methodist Church, 313 Stilson St. Earlville, with Pastor Sandy Smith officiating. Burial of his urn will be at a later date. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m., Saturday, February 21st at the church until the time of service. Memorials may be directed to Earlville United Methodist Church or the Parkinson’s Foundation. Arrangements were entrusted to Hanley-Turner-Eighner Funeral Home in Earlville.
