Bonnie Rhea Gord, 72, of Somonauk, Illinois passed away Thursday, October 20, 2016 at Willow Crest Nursing Pavilion in Sandwich, IL surrounded by her loving family. She was born February 14, 1944 in Sandwich, IL, the daughter of J. Wilbur and Georgia Rhea Nelson. She married Gary O. Gord on June 22, 1963 in Sandwich. Bonnie was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church of Somonauk. She enjoyed her kids and grandkids events and was always there for them. Bonnie’s greatest love of all was her family.
She is survived by her husband, Gary of Lake Holiday; two daughters, Stephani (Duane) Giesholt of Lake Holiday and Robin (Ray) Raupp of Sheridan; one son-in-law, Albert Alvarez of Somonauk; seven grandchildren, Ryan (Megan) Raupp, Jeremy (Angela) Giesholt, Christopher Giesholt, Aaron Alvarez, Rachel (David) Baumann, Abbie Alvarez and LCPL Ross Raupp; one great grandson, Sebastian Alvarez; one brother, John Cheryl Nelson of Sandwich; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, Jennifer L. Alvarez, and two sisters, Patricia Klotz and Alice Casner.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, October 24, 2016 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Somonauk with Pastor William C. Weidenbach, Jr. officiating. Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 23, 2016 at Turner-Eighner Funeral Home in Somonauk.
