Bonnie Kay (Keller) Wallis, 55, passed away Monday, June 29, 2015, at her home in Sandwich, surrounded by her loving family. She fought a courageous 5 1/2 year battle with breast cancer before succumbing to the disease.
Bonnie was born December 9, 1959 to John and Margaret Keller in Harvard, IL. On May 9, 1981, she married Kyle Stephen Wallis in Sandwich, IL.
She graduated from Leland High School; and then received her Associates Degree in Nursing in 1985 from Waubonsee Community College, Sugar Grove, IL.
After working as a nurse at Morris Hospital, Sandwich Community Hospital, and Urgent Care at Dryer Medical Clinic in Aurora, IL, she served as Nurse Manager at Sandwich Family Practice for 25 years.
Bonnie enjoyed family and friends; riding and caring for her horse, and spending unlimited time with her granddaughter, Sophie.
She is survived by her husband Kyle Stephen Wallis, daughter Ashley Nicole Wallis, and granddaughter, Sophia Nicole Kordick, all of Sandwich, IL; her parents John and Margaret Keller of Earlville, IL. Her siblings Randy and Wendy Keller of Earlville; Karen and Gary Seyller of Paris, TN.; Rhonda and John Noto of Ottawa; Darrel and Karen Keller of Ottawa; Peggy Wilson of Sandwich; and Brian Keller of Earlville; along with many nieces and nephews; she has an extended family who love and will miss her.
Visitation will be held at Harvest Chapel from 1:30 PM to 4:30 PM, Saturday, July 4, 2015, with services at 5:00 PM. Harvest Chapel is located at 725 County Line Road, Sandwich, IL.
