Betty Marie Sawicki

Betty Marie Sawicki, 78 of Earlville, IL passed away on June 21, 2026 at OSF St. Anthony Medical Center in Rockford, IL. She was born on July 5, 1947, in Sandwich, IL the daughter of Joseph “Woody” and Marjorie “Ruth” (McKenzie) Durbin. She married Don W. Sawicki on March 30, 1967, in Ottawa, IL. and were happily married for 50 years. Betty was known for making “Mimi” blankets to share her warmth. She was a member of the Generation Exchange at Earlville School. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family.

She is survived by one daughter, Kristen (Jeff) Jones; four grandchildren, Brady (Emma) Ambler, Maddy (Christopher) Ambler, Kamdyn (Logan) Ambler, and Jeffrey Jones; life-long friend, Cynthia Knapp; special “daughter,” Jessica Whittaker and “granddaughter” Halleigh Blair; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Don; grandson, Dalton; brother, George Durbin and sister, Faye Sandburg.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm-7:00 pm on Sunday, June 28, 2026 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Earlville. Visitation will continue on Monday, June 29, 2026 at the church from 10:00 am to 11:00 am following with Funeral Service at 11:00 am with Denise Rode officiating located at 415 S.
