Betty Kay Grimm, 77, of Earlville, Illinois passed away, Saturday, March 11, 2017 at OSF St. Anthony Medical Center in Rockford, IL. She was born November 12, 1939 in Spring Valley, IL the daughter of Charles and Velma Hassler Schindel. She married Howard D. Grimm on December 11, 1976 in Amboy, IL. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, where she was active on several committees and formerly served on the church council. Betty received her Bachelor and Master of Science Degrees from Northern Illinois University in DeKalb, IL. Betty and Howard farmed in the Earlville area until his passing in June 22, 1989. She continued managing the farm and did substitute teaching.
She is survived by one sister, Linda Schindel of Amboy, IL and two Aunts, Lucille Prostko and Bertha Ballatti both of Princeton, IL and several cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband Howard.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, March 15, 2017 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Earlville, IL with Rev. Tammy Anderson officiating. Burial will follow in Precinct Cemetery rural Earlville. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m., Wednesday, March 15, 2017 in the church until the service at 11:00 a.m. Arrangements were entrusted to Hanley-Turner-Eighner Funeral Home in Earlville.
