Barbara Ann Stolz, 83, of Sandwich passed away Friday, March 1, 2024, at OSF St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Ottawa. She was born October 6, 1940, in Chicago, IL, the daughter of Joseph and Marie (Stark) Martinkus. She married Kennth J. Stolz, Sr. on April 4, 1959, in Chicago, IL, and they spent the next 57 years together. Ken and Barb loved to travel and camp. An avid sports fan, from little league to professional, especially her Chicago Bears and Cubs. Barb’s priority and greatest joy was always her family. In her later years she celebrated her grandchildren and especially her great grandson, Axel Kenneth.
She is survived by children, Kevin (Karen) Stolz in Sandwich, IL, Keith Stolz of Sandwich, IL, Steven (Dianna) Stolz, Sr. of Ottawa, IL, Jennifer (Jim) Davis of Serena, IL; her grandchildren, Micheal (Lynnae) Stolz, Kathleen Stolz, Steve Stolz, Jr., Zachary Stolz; her great grandson, Axel Kenneth Stolz; two sisters from another mister, Darlene Schneiderwind and Joan Garber; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her in-laws, Peter and Martha Stolz, husband, Ken, her son, Ken (Sharon) Jr., her sisters, Joan Roller and Marianne Berghefer.
A visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 7, 2024, at Turner-Eighner Funeral Home in Somonauk. A Memorial Service will follow at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 7, 2024, at the funeral home in Somonauk with Father Bernard Sehr officiating.
