Barbara A. Gunderson

Barbara A. Gunderson, 58, of Sheridan passed away Thursday, July 5, 2012 at her home, surrounded by her loving family and friends. She was born January 26, 1954 in Aurora the daughter of Vernon and Virginia (Baxter) Rogers. She married Kenneth Gunderson on September 15, 2000 in Ottawa. She loved her shelties (Gidget, Sassy and Trixey) and her cat. Barbara enjoyed get togethers with family and friends. She especially enjoyed her grandchildren. A special thanks goes out to the lung transplant team and the cancer treatment center at Loyola University Medical Center as well as the OSF Hospice Team and Chaplin.

She is survived by her husband Kenneth of Sheridan; two daughters, Andrea (Billy) Stockman of Leland and Tracy (Nick) Stofko of Sheridan; two step-daughters, Michelle Gunderson of Lockport and Andrea Gunderson of Plano; two step-sons, Kenneth (Brandy) Gunderson Jr. of Somonauk and Ben Gunderson of Aurora; nine grandchildren, Dylan, Paige, Justin, Avrie, Kadence, Billy Jr., Jaxson, Brooklynn and Anthony

She was preceded in death by her parents and her first husband Jeffrey Hanson.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, July 9, 2012 at Turner-Eighner Funeral Home in Somonauk with Father Thomas Brantman officiating. Burial will follow in St. John’s Catholic Cemetery in Somonauk. Visitation will be from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 8, 2012 at Turner-Eighner Funeral Home in Somonauk. Memorials may be directed to a charity of one’s choice.
