Barbara Jean Buhler

Barbara Jean Buhler, 97, of Sheridan, Illinois passed away on Sunday, July 5, 2026 at her home. She was born on December 16, 1928 in Aurora, Illinois the daughter of James and Dorothy (Glover) Innis. She happily married Gene Allen Buhler on May 13, 1956 in Earlville. She was a long time member of the Serena United Methodist Church. She enjoyed Quilting Hardanger but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. 

Barbara is survived by her children, Cynthia (Brad Augustine) Gunderson  of Sheridan and Jeffrey (Gayla Seville) Buhler of Leland; grandchildren, Tim (Nicole) Buhler, Cory (Emily) Buhler, Sara (Matt) Millerand Trent Gunderson; great-grandchildren, Ethan , Brooklyn, Charlee, Caleb, Grace, Grady, Landry, Finnley; as well as many nieces and nephews. 

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Gene; one brother, James (Kate) Innis; two sisters, Pauline (Ron) Underwood and Sally (Robert) Sutcliff. 

Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 11, 2026  from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at Serena United Methodist Church in Serena, Illinois with a memorial service to follow.
