Arlene Doris Vancil, 88, of Harker Heights, TX formerly of Sandwich, passed away March 27, 2012 at Metroplex Hospital in Killeen TX. She was born January 13, 1924 in Somonauk, IL the daughter of John and Luella (Northcutt) Boers. Arlene was united in marriage to Murry (Jake) Vancil on May 2, 1942 in St. Louis MO. Arlene and Jake lived in Sandwich their entire married life prior to moving to Harker Heights, TX in 2001. Arlene was a homemaker except for the time she worked for James Knights Company during the war.
She is survived by one son, Jerry (Glenda) Vancil of Killeen TX; two grandchildren, Amanda Vancil of Leander, TX and Jason Vancil of Florence, TX.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jake in 2001.
Graveside Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, June 29, 2012 at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Sandwich, IL.
