Anne Lucas, 91, formerly of Plano passed away Friday, January 18, 2013 at Sandwich Rehab in Sandwich. She was born June 29, 1921 in Hegewisch, IL the daughter of Elie and Anna (Bucimar) Lucas. Anne was a life-long member of the Plano American Legion Women’s Auxiliary, CCW of St. Mary’s Catholic Church where she was also a life- long member. She retired from Protection Mutual Insurance in Park Ridge after many years of service. Anne loved to travel, she traveled extensively all over the world by herself and enjoyed meeting people everywhere she went. In her later years, she enjoyed the luncheon and birthday club with her girlfriends.
She is survived by two nephews, Victor (Margo) Lucas of Port Charlotte, FL and Scott Lucas of Plano, IL; three nieces, Dorsi (Bob) Hubbartt of Plano, IL, Staci (Jim) Smith of Plano, IL and Margo Lucas of Southern IL; one niece-in-law, Carole Ardelean of Plano, IL; four great-nieces, Valerie (Marty) Lincoln of Plano, IL, Robin Kuehlem of Sayner, WI, Glenda Ardelean of Plano, IL and Kelly (Josh) Avigael of Auston, TX; three great-nephews, Jeff (Sarah) Ardelean of Sandwich, IL, Mark Lucas of Oriental, NC and Victor Lucas of Arlington, TX; and numerous great-great nieces and nephews. Heartfelt thanks to Passages Hospice for all their loving and care.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her sisters Marie Ardelean-Peres and Florence Lucas, her brothers, John, Louis, Victor and Eli Lucas, one niece, Jacklyn Lucas and two nephews, Art Ardelean and David (Betty) Ardelean.
Private graveside services will be held at a later date. Memorials may be directed to St. Mary’s Building Fund.
