Anna Mae Marson, 99, of Elgin, Illinois formerly of Sandwich, Illinois passed away Saturday, January 21, 2023 at Oak Crest Residence in Elgin, Illinois surrounded by her loving family. She was born May 25, 1923 in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania the daughter of Joseph and Eleanor (Kress) Griesbaum. She married Alfred Marson on August 28, 1943 in Albany, Georgia. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Somonauk, Illinois. She enjoyed baking, gardening, but most of all she loved spending time with her family.
She is survived by three sons, Daniel (Barbara) Marson of Huntley, Illinois, Robert (Nancy) Marson of Cookeville, Tennessee, and Richard Marson of Geneva, Illinois; one daughter, Betty Basile of Morris, Illinois; five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Alfred; one son in infancy, one granddaughter, Amy Beth Marson; and eight siblings.
Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, January 26, 2023 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Somonauk, Illinois with Father Kevin Butler officiating. Burial will follow at St. John Catholic Cemetery in Somonauk, Illinois. Visitation will be private at the funeral home.
