Anna M. Fuchs Brand, 86, of Leland passed away Thursday, January 21, 2016 at Willow Crest Nursing Pavilion in Sandwich. She was born December 9, 1929 in Kenosha, WI, the daughter of Alfred and Bernadine DeGroot Brand. As a small child she moved with her family to Aurora and lived there until her marriage to Charles Fuchs on August 24, 1946. They then moved to their farm home in Leland. Anna was a talented seamstress and enjoyed sewing for her family and home. She was also a talented artist and for 25 years sold her hand painted crafts at many local craft shows. Anna loved to travel; she and Chuck visited most states and many foreign countries. Anna was a loyal and active member of Bethany Lutheran Church in Leland, where she and Chuck faithfully raised their family. She served her church on numerous committees and was also a member of the Junior Woman’s Club for many years.
She is survived by her husband of 69 years, Charles, of Leland, IL; six children, Linda Hann of Sandwich, IL, Sandy Gary Swanson of Maple Park, IL, Kevin Jan Fuchs of Orland Park, IL, Debbie Marshall DeFrank of Grant Park, IL, Tammy Gerry Freese of North Aurora, IL, and Blair Esmeralda Fuchs of Sheridan, IL; eleven grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and one brother, Jim Cheryl Brand of Thompsonville, MI.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Bill Brand, sister, Joyce Cosentino, son-in-law, Don Hann and sister-in-law, Mary Jane Marrs
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, January 25, 2016 at Turner-Eighner Funeral Home in Somonauk with Pastor Harold Grafe officiating. Burial will follow at Leland Cemetery in Leland. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, January 25, 2016 at the funeral home in Somonauk.
