Loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother, Anna Benda, “Moo”, age 98, of South Daytona, Florida, passed away May 25, 2016.
Anna was preceded in death by her parents, William Matthew and Anna Harris; husband, Edwin Benda; 8 brothers and sisters; and granddaughter, Dana Dockendorf.
Anna is survived by her two daughters, Dorothy Lonnie Larson of Port Orange Florida, and Nancy James Dockendorf of Somonauk,IL, one son, Roger Benda of Jacksonville, Florida; 12 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; 26 great-great-grandchildren, and many other family and friends.
Anna was born in Bingham, Illinois on July 4, 1917. Anna valued her time spent with family and friends. She enjoyed many hobbies including, sewing, gardening, crocheting and knitting. She was an active member of the RLDS Church. Following her husband Edwin’s retirement in 1977, she moved to Orange Park, Florida and later settled in South Daytona in 1979.
Funeral services will be at Liberty Church, Bingham, Illinois at 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 3, 2016. Visitation will be in the church from 10:00 a.m. until time of the funeral. Anna will be laid to rest next to her loving husband Edwin at Liberty Cemetery in Bingham, Illinois.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The American Cancer Society. The family of Anna wishes to thank everyone for their continued thoughts and prayers.
