Ann (Meisinger) Kuhn was born into her earthly life on May 18, 1932 to John and Catherine Meisinger in Naperville, IL. She was born into Eternal Life at age 91 on Sept. 10, 2023.

Ann and her late beloved husband, Richard (Dick) Kuhn had a wonderful marriage of 31 years and raised seven children together. She devoted much of her life to being a loving mother to Joe (Liz) Kuhn of Naperville, IL, Terri Lundeen of Hayward, WI, Paul Kuhn of Beuna Vista, Co, Lori Kuhn of Carbondale, IL, Jim (Jerri) Kuhn of Sandwich, IL, Donna (Rick) Mitchell of Plano, IL, and Chuck (Kim) Kuhn of DeSoto, IL. Ann’s 23 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren gave her great pleasure.

Ann and Dick resided with their children on a family farm south of Naperville. In later years they moved to Plano, IL where Ann enjoyed the peace and tranquility of the woods and creek on their rural farm property.

Being outdoors in nature was one of Ann’s greatest joys. Walking in the woods, gardening, bird feeding, tending a campfire, and mowing her yard were some of her favorite activities. An animal lover, her pets (especially Smokey and Honey) were loyal companions over the years.

Ann generously shared her lovely property, which she named and developed as Oasis Place of Prayer, a spiritual retreat center she opened in her serene and reflective setting. A favorite feature was a meditative labyrinth she created in her yard. As a Spiritual Director and retreat leader, Ann inspired many visitors in personal and spiritual growth. This late in life vocation was borne after receiving her master's degree in Spiritual Studies at Holy Names University in Oakland, CA in 1991.

Raised in the tradition of the Catholic Church, Ann attended Saints Peter and Paul Grade School in Naperville and Madonna High School in Aurora. She was greatly inspired by Saint Francis of Assisi-in his appreciation for nature and his reverence for all of God’s creation. This led her to become involved with the Wheaton Franciscan Community where she was an active Covenant Companion for 25 years. The Wheaten Franciscan women were truly a highlight in Ann’s spiritual and social life.

Ann lived a life of love, simplicity, faith and grace. Those who knew her were privileged and enriched; those who were loved by her were blessed. We are thankful for her presence in our lives and remember her for her extra care, eternal hope, and universal love.

Ann is survived by her sister Rose Cowan of Hinckley, IL; stepmother Mary Ory of South Elgin, IL; sister-in-law Julie Meisinger of Glen Mills, PA; sister-in-law Mary Meyers of West Chicago; along with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Ann is preceded in death by her parents, husband Richard, brother Jack Meisinger, brother-in-law Lee Cowan, and son-in-law Karl Lundeen.

Her life will be celebrated with a Mass at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church 1500 Brookdale Rd, Naperville, IL on Friday, September 22, 2023 at 11:00 A.M. Visitation prior to Mass from 9:30-11:00 at St. Thomas the Apostle. Private family burial. For more information or to sign the online guestbook go to www.EighnerFuneralHomes.com
