Alvirda J. Neely, 80, of Earlville, Illinois passed away Sunday, September 17, 2017 at Willow Crest Nursing Pavilion in Sandwich, IL. She was born December 21, 1936 in Chicago, IL the daughter of John D. and Winifred J. Crowe Trappe. She married Donald Ray Neely on July 2, 1955 in Maywood, IL. She worked at Muellermist Irrigation Company in Broadview, IL for 35 years retiring in 2001. She loved to read, grow flowers, and truly enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Donald of Earlville; one son Jim Cindy Neely of Harding, IL: one daughter Janet Gil Hardy of Woodridge, IL; twelve grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren; two sisters, Lillian Hall of Streamwood, IL, and Edith John Boese of Oxford, WI; one brother, John Trappe of CA, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and two sisters, Florence and Dolores.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Thursday, September 21, 2017 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Earlville, IL with Rev. Tammy Anderson and Rev. Roger Crum officiating. Burial will be private at a later date. Visitation will be from 12:30 p.m., Thursday in the church until the service at 1:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to The American Cancer Society.
