Alma D. Medellin, 51, of Sandwich, IL passed away Friday, May 28, 2021 at Rush-Copley Medical Center in Aurora, IL. She was born July 18, 1969 in Chihuahua, MX the daughter of Hermilia and Antonio (Gonzalez) Castro. She married Fernando Medellin on June of 1991 in Ottawa, IL. She enjoyed spending time with her twin sister, her family, and especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by her parents; Hermila and Antonio Castro of Sandwich, IL, her daughter Delia Medellin of Sandwich, IL; three sons Ismael Medellin of Aurora, IL, Fernando Medellin of Sandwich, IL, and Jose Andres Medellin of Sandwich, IL; four grandchildren Jiselle, Elijah, Ariana, and Valeria; three sisters Carmen Valdez of Sandwich, IL, Norma (Juan) Zamora of Sandwich, IL, and Lesvia Castro-Edwards of Sandwich, IL; two brothers Jesus Gonzalez of Jasper, MO and Carlos Castro of Sandwich, IL.
She was preceded in death by her husband Fernando Medellin and one sister in infancy.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 7, 2021 at Burkhart-Eighner Funeral Home in Sandwich, IL. Burial will follow at Pratts Oak Lawn Cemetery in Sandwich, IL. Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 6, 2021 at Burkhart-Eighner Funeral Home in Sandwich, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family.
