Alma E. Leifheit of Sandwich, IL passed away Monday, July 25, 2011 at Sandwich Rehabilitation & Health Care Center. She was born May 25, 1919, to Stephen & Edith (Stewart) Jump. She graduated from Rollo High School. She held many positions over the years; however, is probably most remembered by her years of working at Parks Brothers in Sandwich and Miller’s Foods in Somonauk. She was a member of Salem Lutheran Church.
Survivors include a son, Jerry (Monica) Englehart of Paw Paw; a daughter, Kathy (Jim) Porter, of Plano; two sisters-in-law, Wylma Jump of Paw Paw and Nadine Jump of Indiana; a brother-in-law, Bob Safranek of Paw Paw; four grandchildren, Christine and Dr. Erik (Becky) Englehart, Alex and Andrew Porter; two great grandchildren, Ryan and Luke Englehart; numerous nieces and nephews; and special friends, Stephanie Englehart and Diane Haas.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her son, Ronald David Englehart, brothers Carl, Marvin, and Harold Jump, and sisters, Doris Haines and Mary Safranek.
Funeral services will be at 10:00am Friday, July 29, 2011, at Salem Lutheran Church in Sandwich, Illinois, with Pastor Wayne Derber officiating. Burial to follow at Wyoming Cemetery in Paw Paw. Visitation will be held from 5pm to 7pm on Thursday, July 28, 2011, at Turner-Eighner Funeral Home in Somonauk. Memorials made be directed to Salem Lutheran Church or The Open Door
