Alice E. Brewer, 77, of Mendota, IL formerly of Earlville, IL passed away Sunday, December 11, 2011 in Rock Island, IL at her daughter’s home. She was born on October 30, 1934 in Paw Paw, IL the daughter of Edgar and Nannie (Simpson) Shehan. She married Everett "Red" Brewer November 23, 1954 in Earlville, IL. Former member of Earlville United Methodist Church, Alice worked locally at several restaurants, nursing homes and grocery store as a cook and baker. Alice was an avid football fan always cheering the Green Bay Packers on.
She is survived by two daughters, Monica (Chuck) Mann of Mendota, IL and Melodye (Jessie) Alston of Rock Island, IL; one son Scott Brewer of DeKalb, IL; eight grandchildren, Michael and Paula Mann, Kimberly (Macio) Harger, Brian, Mark, Scott Brewer, Abby (Robert) Christian, and Kaden Alston; five great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Everett, three sisters, Frances Joslin, Hazel Fultz and Mabel Fultz, and one nephew, Michael Fultz.
According to Alice’s wishes there will be no visitation or services. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to Trinity Medical Center 2701 17th Ave. Rock Island, IL 61201 C/O the Kidney Unit or Trinity Pathway Hospice 106 19th Ave. Moline, IL 61265. A Special Thank You to Trinity Medical Center 7th Floor and Trinity Hospice. Arrangements were entrusted to Hanley-Turner-Eighner Funeral Home in Earlville, IL.
