Albert J. Neuman

Albert J. Neuman, 88, of Lake Holiday Somonauk, IL passed away Wednesday, January 8, 2014 in his home. He was born January 15, 1925 in Chicago, IL the son of Albert and Josephine (Schmeler) Neuman. He married Marian Slusinski on June 7, 1952 in Chicago, IL. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Somonauk, IL. Albert was a U.S. Navy Veteran of WW II and was a Lieutenant on the Chicago Fire Department for 31 years, retiring in March 24, 1980.

He is survived by four daughters, Gail Neuman of Chicago, IL, Patrice (Mark) Eckhart of Kansas City, KS, Donna (Daniel) Kotch of Rockton, IL and Anne (Scott) Perkins of Kent, WA; eleven grandchildren, five great grandchildren; one brother Robert (Josephine) Neuman of Port Orange, FL, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Marian, one daughter Nancy Walsh and one sister Lucille Fischer.

Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, January 13, 2014 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Somonauk, IL with Father Donald D. DeSalvo officiating. Burial will follow at St. John Catholic Cemetery, Somonauk, IL. Visitation will be from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m., Sunday, January 12, 2014 at Turner-Eighner Funeral Home in Somonauk.
