Virginia E. Johnson

Virginia E. Johnson, 90, of Ottawa, IL formerly of Earlville, IL passed away Thursday, September 15, 2022 at LaSalle County Nursing Home in Ottawa, IL, surrounded by her loving family. She was born September 1, 1932 in Cambridge, MA the daughter of William J. and Anna G. (Hanley) Mitchell, Jr. She married Frederick G. Johnson on September 14, 1951 in Quincy, MA. Virginia was a homemaker, loved to travel and enjoyed spending time with her loved ones.

She is survived by their six children, Karen (Donald) Nosalik of Tiskilwa, IL, Mark (Linda) Johnson of Lake Holiday, IL, Paul (Mary) Johnson of Sycamore, IL, Diane Scerini (David Robinson) of Earlville, IL, Alan (Rachel) Johnson of Malta, IL and Brian (Linda) Johnson of Ottawa, IL; nineteen grandchildren, twenty-seven great grandchildren; one sister Ethel Osborne, of Earlville, IL, and one sister-in-law Carolyn Johnson of Kiel, WI, several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Frederick, one son and one daughter in infancy, one brother William, one grandson, Joseph Paul Johnson, one great granddaughter, Maci Jo Russell.

Private Graveside services will be held on Saturday, September 24, 2022 at Precinct Cemetery rural Earlville, IL, with Pastor Sandy Smith officiating. There will be no visitation.
