Mary Rose "Mimi" Bryan

Mary Rose “Mimi” Bryan, 65, of Sandwich IL passed away Sunday, May 6, 2012 in Edward Hospital in Naperville. She was born July 20, 1946 in Peoria, IL the daughter of Carl F. and Mary Rose (Rubino) Zeman. She married Rich Bryan on September 5, 1970 in Peoria, IL. She taught in Sandwich Community School District 430 from September 1968 to December 1994. After retiring from teaching she was Proprietor of The Learning Depot. Then she worked at Harrison Advertising & Public Relations, First American Title Insurance Company, Waubonsee Community College, and most recently worked for Kendall County, as Administrative Assistant to the County Administrator until September 2011.

She was a founding member on the Board of Directors of the Fox Valley Family YMCA. She served on the Board of Directors for the Association to Restore City Hall and the Sandwich District Library Board. She still is a member of the Red Hat Society, founding member of the Indian Valley Theatre, and a founding member of the Tri-County Kiwanis where she served as inaugural president.

She survived by her husband, Rich of Sandwich; one daughter, Allison Elisabeth Bryan of Sandwich; one son, Carl William (Susan Tuma) Bryan of Aurora; one sister, Carol (Scott) Woodley of Thornton, CO; one sister-in-law, Anne (Lon) Dickerson of Metairie, LA and several nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life of Mimi Bryan will be held at the Sandwich Opera House on Thursday, May 10, 2012 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The family extends an invitation to all who knew her or whose lives were touched by her to participate in honoring her life. Please bring your memories of Mimi and we will share these by reading them aloud. A reception will be in the community room following the celebration. If one wishes to make a memorial donation they may be directed to Indian Valley Theatre or Tri-County Kiwanis located in Sandwich.
