Jason “Jake” R. Pruski, 47, of Sandwich, IL, passed away Monday, July 29, 2019 at Valley West Hospital in Sandwich. He was born February 21, 1972 in Sandwich, IL, the son of Michael R. and Carol L. (Rogers) Pruski. He married Kristine M. Edwards on May 6, 2005 in Sycamore, IL. Jake has been the Chief of the Sandwich Community Fire Protection District for three years but he had been a member of over 30 years. He was a fire science instructor at Indian Valley Vocational Center and Waubonsee Community College. Jake was a carpenter at heart, he loved to build furniture and countless other objects. He was a huge sports fan, with NASCAR and the Chicago Bulls being his favorites. He was an amazing father to his four children and loving husband. Jake’s greatest joy was spending time with his family and friends, especially his kids.
He is survived by his wife, Kristy of Sandwich, IL; his parents, Michael and Carol of Sandwich, IL; his four children, Baleigh Pruski of Yorkville, IL, Bridgett Pruski of Plano, IL, Connor and Ava Pruski both of Sandwich, IL; two brothers, Jeremy (Heather) Pruski of St. Gabriel, LA and Jeff (Christy) Pruski of Sandwich, IL; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Earl and Vivian Rogers, Mike and Adelaide Pruski, and his uncle, Steven E. Rogers, DDS.
Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 3, 2019 at the Sandwich Fire Department, 310 E. Railroad St. in Sandwich, with Chaplain Paul Bannister and Pastor Derek Rogers officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Sandwich, IL. Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, August 2, 2019 at the Sandwich Fire Department. Memorials may be directed to Jason’s children.
