Howard E. Weatherly, 78, of Earlville, IL, formerly of Edom, TX, passed away, Friday, March 15, 2013 at Mendota Community Hospital in Mendota, IL surrounded by his loving family. He was born March 24, 1934 in Clarksville, TX the son of Ben and Lila (Marshall) Weatherly. He married Janice L. Hansen on July 12, 1958 in Fort Worth, TX. He was a member of the Moose Lodge for several years, and he loved playing poker. His greatest love was his wife Janice and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Janice of Earlville; four daughters, Sueann (Jim) McKenzie of Chandler, Tx, Peggy (Jeff) Parkins of Earlville, IL, Brenda (Neil) Armstrong of Manhattan, IL and Deborah (Mark Hall) Smith of Quinlan, TX; 11 grandchildren, Robert Swonke, Angie Henczel, Charles Henczel, Charly Mueller, Brian Mueller, Christopher Armstrong, Janice Armstrong, Justin Weatherly, Crystal Smith, William Smith, and Matt Smith; 18 great grandchildren; one sister, Mary Been of North Carolina; three brothers, Billy (Nonie) Weatherly, Bobby Weatherly both of Brownsboro, TX, and Jack (Lupe) Weatherly of Houston, TX; and several special nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Ben H. and Jimmy Weatherly.
According to Howard’s wishes there will be no funeral service. Memorial Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 20, 2013 at Hanley-Turner-Eighner Funeral Home in Earlville, IL. Graveside service 3:00 p.m., March 30, 2013 at Edoms Cemetery in Edoms TX. Memorials may be directed to the family.
