Gay Lynn Coakley Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Gay Lynn Coakley, 54, of Sandwich, Illinois passed away, Thursday, April 26, 2018 at Willow Crest Nursing Pavilion in Sandwich. She was born November 4, 1963 in Sandwich, IL the daughter of Dwight and Patricia (Nelson) Klotz. She married Barry J. Coakley on August 26, 1995 in Big Rock, IL. She was a member of Salem Lutheran Church in Sandwich. Gay enjoyed watching the The Bears, White Sox and Chicago Bulls. Her beloved cats Jordan and Molly were very much a part of her life. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family and many friends. She is survived by her father Dwight Klotz of Big Rock, IL; two sisters, Vicky Wielert, and Melinda (Tim) Engel both of Hinckley; two brothers, Michael (Joyce) Klotz and Gregory (Renee) Klotz both of Big Rock, IL, step-brothers, Larry (Laura) Allen of Sandwich, IL and John (Christine) Allen of Escondido, CA; step sisters, Joan (Don) Hafenrichter of Yorkville, IL, Patty Allen of Oceanside, CA, Susan Allen of Yorkville, IL, and Debi Merriken of San Marcos, CA and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. A special thank you to her roommate and guardian angel Alicia Rushing, the staff of Willow Crest and Kristen and Megan from Unity Hospice for their loving care of Gay. She was preceded in death by her mother and her husband, her step-mother, Irene Klotz, and her step-sister, Julie Allen. Memorial services will be held at 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 2, 2018 at Burkhart-Eighner Funeral Home 606 E. Arnold Rd. Sandwich, IL., with Rev. Wayne Derber officiating. Burial of her urn will be private at a later date in Lincoln Memorial Park in Aurora, IL. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Wednesday,.
