Rev. Burneal W. A. Fick, 84, of Sandwich Illinois, was called to his eternal home Friday, October 6, 2023. He was born September 28, 1939, in Chicago, Illinois, the son of Albert and Lydia (Harks) Fick. He married Jeanne Leicken on June 27, 1964, in College Point, New York. Burneal was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Hinckley, Illinois. Burneal served the Missouri Synod Lutheran Church as a teacher and pastor for over 40 years. He was known for his compassion for others, his willingness to listen and mentor, and an unmistakable laugh. In his younger days, he loved using his guitar and violin to lead people in song with his wife, Jeanne. Teaching the Gospel and serving the Lord’s people were among his biggest passions.
He is survived by children Burneal (Sheila) Fick, Mara (Matthew) Springer, Charma Fick, Robbyn (Dustin) Bennett; grandchildren Burneal Fick, Corwin Fick, Garrick Springer, Carrah Bennett, and Lyddia Bennett; sister Alberta James.
He was preceded in death by his wife Jeanne (Leicken) Fick; parents Albert and Lydia (Harks) Fick; sister Ernette Ryba; son Darrel Fick.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 14, 2023 from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm at Immanuel Lutheran Church located at 12760 Lee Rd, Hinckley, IL. 60520. Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 pm at the church with Pastor James Barbey officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Sandwich, IL.
