Bess L. Moss Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Bess L. Moss, 96, of Sandwich, IL. passed away Tuesday November 30, 2021 at Willow Crest Nursing Pavilion in Sandwich, IL. She was born January 1, 1925 in Whitewater, WI. the daughter of Andrew, and Rose (Heyse) Ritsema. She married Paul Moss on November 29, 1947 in Whitewater, WI. after World War II. Bess was an avid bowler for years, bowling for Plano Bowling League sponsored by Pekoc and Lee. She was very proud of that 240 game she bowled. Two of her oldest friends knew her as “Freckles”. She enjoyed buying antique furniture to refinish and then turning around to resell her finished project. She worked for many years at the Sandwich Fair in the antiques building and horticulture building winning a purple ribbon for latch hooking. Bess enjoyed spending time with her friends at the Beecher Center in Yorkville. Her greatest love of all was the time she spent with her family. She is survived by five sons, Dennis (Susan) Moss of Big Rock, IL., Gary (Deb) Moss of Sandwich, IL., Tim (Althea) Moss of Albuquerque, NM., Richard (Mar) Moss of Rochelle IL. and Jerry (Sarah) Moss of Somonauk, IL; several grandchildren and several great-grandchildren; one sister Nancy Mason of Roscoe, IL; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, three sisters Viola Stoll, Virginia Taber, Leatrice Selnow, and two brothers, Ronald Ritsema and Clifford Ritsema.
