Barbara T. Christopher, 86, of Somonauk, IL passed away Tuesday, January 7, 2025, at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on September 19, 1938, the daughter of Albert and Irene (Parisot) Fahrlander. She married the love of her life, Wayne “Chris” Christopher on April 12, 1958, in Somonauk, IL and spent the next 62 years together.
Barbara enjoyed playing the organ at numerous social events. She also worked as a bartender at the Village Courtyard in Somonauk, where she met so many lifelong friends. She enjoyed yard work and gardening on the farm, fishing trips to Lodi, WI with family and friends and road trips to Kansas hunting with her grandsons. She absolutely loved attending her grandkids and great grandkids sporting events.
She is survived by one daughter, Melinda Beutler of Wheaton, IL; one son, Scott (Lori) Christopher of Somonauk, IL; five grandchildren, Edward (Nicole) Beutler, Mandy (Nate) Schwartz, Blake Christopher, Tyler (Julie) Christopher, and Colin (Raquel) Christopher; twelve great grandchildren, one sister, Mariette of Elgin, IL; and four nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Wayne Christopher; her son-in-law, Edward Beutler.
A Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 12, 2025, at Turner-Eighner Funeral Home in Somonauk. Funeral Services will follow at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 12, 2025 at the funeral home in Somonauk, with CP Chuck Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at St. John Catholic Cemetery in Somonauk.
