Sally Jo Donahue

Sally Jo Donahue, 79, of Somonauk, IL. passed away Sunday, November 14, 2021 at Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield, IL., surrounded by her loving family. She was born June 10, 1942 in Sandwich, IL, the daughter of Homer and Fern (Hodge) Halford. She married Bernard J. “Jim” Donahue on October 16, 1965 in Somonauk, IL. She was a member of Union Congregational Church, Somonauk, IL. Member of the Moose Lodge, Avid Sandwich Fair Goer, and enjoyed fishing. Owned and operated the Lunch Wagon for several years at Auctions and other events. Sally’s greatest love of all was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

She is survived by one daughter, Michelle (Daryl Bowles) Huss of Somonauk, IL, one son, Jim (Amy) Donahue of Somonauk, IL; five grandchildren, Andrew (Ali) Huss of Lee, IL, Brieann (Andy Velazquez) Donahue of Somonauk, IL, Kelsey Richard of Chicago, IL, Alex Richard of Manila, AR, and Quinn Bradford of Wayne, IL; one sister, Peggy (Chuck) Kirby of West Burlington, IA; two sisters-in-law, Raeburn Halford of Somonauk, IL, and Barb Donahue of LaMoille, IL; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband “Jim”, one daughter, Tracy Jo Donahue, one brother, Jerry Halford, and one brother-in-law Jerry Donahue.

Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, November 20, 2021 at Union Congregational Church in Somonauk, IL., with Pastor Theodore Engelsdorfer along with Andrew Huss officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery in Sandwich, IL. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., Friday, November 19, 2021 at Turner-Eighner Funeral Home in Somonauk, IL.
