Kenneth "Ken" Wayne Mason

Kenneth “Ken” W. Mason, 71, of Leland, IL passed away Friday, February 23, 2024 at Northwestern Kishwaukee Hospital in DeKalb, IL surrounded by his loving family. He was born September 7, 1952 in Kewanee, IL. the son of Frederick and Lillian (White) Mason. He married Sandra L. Plote on October 11, 1975 in Marseilles, IL. He was a member of Leland United Methodist Church where he was on the board as a trustee for several years. He worked at Northwestern Medicine Valley West Hospital for over 30 years in the Maintenance Department. He enjoyed all sports and especially loved watching his grandchildren play. Ken was known as a jack of all trades and was also a trivia master of everything with his profound knowledge.

He is survived by his wife, Sandi; one daughter, Brooke (Matt) Grzanich; one son, Ryan (Brandy) Mason; four grandchildren, Katie, Matthew, Kiley, and Jonah; one sister, Kim (Dewinn) Hume of Port Byron, IL, one brother, Dennis Mason of San Diego, CA. and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister Kathleen Burney and one brother Darrell Mason.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 29, 2024 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Turner-Eighner Funeral Home in Somonauk, IL. Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, March 1, 2024 at the Turner-Eighner Funeral Home in Somonauk, IL with Pastor Abraham Moller officiating. Burial will be private at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made out to the Leland United Methodist Church or the American Cancer Society https://donate.cancer.org .
