Kenneth J. Clowers

Kenneth J. Clowers, 69, of Harding, IL passed away Friday, December 5, 2014 at Edward Hospital in Naperville, IL. He was born April 28, 1945 at home in Morgan County, TN, the son of Estel and Betty (McKee) Clowers and raised by his step-father and mother, John and Betty Harris. He married Jean L. Pettenger on July 25, 1970 in Earlville, IL. Kenneth was a member of the Mendota Moose Lodge. He worked at Wedron Silica for over 30 years. Kenneth loved spending time with his family and grandchildren, and attending all of their activities.

He is survived by his wife, Jean of Harding, IL; one daughter, Dawn (Gary Tabor) Clowers of Ottawa, IL; four grandchildren, Madison Clowers, Cash Nilles, Cole Rossiter and Gunner Sinkler; eight brothers and sisters, James (Carole) McKee, Sr. of Harding, IL, Danny (Pat) Clowers of Bunnyville, IL, Thelma Young of Marseilles, IL, Dorothy (John) Pettenger of Minier, IL, John Harris of Rockville, IN, Robert (Nancy) Harris of Wedron, IL, Vicki (Jeff) Withey of Minier, IL and Dana “Mac” (Robin) Harris of Rockville, IN; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his step-father, one daughter, Cheryl, three sons, Jeremiah, Kenneth, Jr., and Bryan Clowers, two brothers, Donald and James Harris and one sister, Barbara Robbins.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, December 10, 2014 at Turner-Eighner Funeral Home in Somonauk with Pastor John Paul Robbins officiating. Burial will follow at Precinct Cemetery in rural Earlville. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 9, 2014 at the funeral home.
